Family History

Grandma was the young woman with the flag resting on her lap.  She worked for one of the many sweat shops in Chicago and was a smart lady who became one of the supervisors.

Hi Ruth, just been looking up the Hammill family addresses in our area. I have only managed to find one they lived at in Town street, carlton, its about 1 1/2 miles from us.I need to find an old map of the area to find Shay cottage and Stead Row.Do you know if they died in the area? I wonder if they would have been buried at ChristChurch, Lofthouse?
As you know I love family history so cant wait to have a look and see.I will try and take other photos of places your ancestors may have been familiar with.
Love the photo of grandma!
