Turkeys in the sheep pasture

 I caught a reflection.

I guess you know where these turkeys will be on Thanksgiving.  My neighbor who lives down the hill had them in with their sheep for a few months.

It is almost like I captures flying saucers - not really but reflections of white disks.
My granddaughter's cake with reflections of candles.

I've been very busy making Christmas jewelry.  Actually, my first Christmas showing in six years. One time I made candy canes but that was about it.

Fat soldiers, I made some skinny ones too but there is always a plump one around too.
Sea charm brace with an octopus. How did they become popular all of a sudden?

I love the little red Christmas trees.  I've made them in Green too. Check out my Etsy shop: Dians Gems

Around Town

It is not often we see a dune buggy in the parking lot. The sand dunes are not close to this area of Utah. There are some about 40 miles west of us.

Fence, fall and clouds - a perfect day for taking photos.

I get so intrigued by the clouds that cover the mountain peaks and they always have a different look.

This church is found in Logan, Utah.

The Cottonwood Mall

In my memory it wasn't that long ago when the very first mall, The Cottonwood Mall, was built in Salt Lake City.  I was a teen then and it was our favorite place to go. It was far more exciting to visit the mall than to go downtown Salt Lake City where all the stores were spaced so far apart.  Actually, Salt Lake suffered from that mall because shoppers on the east side would flock to the mall for ease of parking and no parking fees.

It was about 20 years ago that someone bought the mall intending to update it to compete with the now five malls in the Salt Lake valley.  We all waited and waited and nothing happened. They tore down all the buildings except for ZCMI which is now Macy's.

I took a little drive over there a couple of weeks ago to see what was left and sure enough, Macy's was there all by itself with a large parking lot.

Beyond the fence is the area where the rest of the mall used to be, now only weeds.  So sad!

In the background is grand Mt. Olympus at 9,026 feet.

I tried taking a photo into the sun;  hard to see the fence but it is there by those trees. This area used to be the prima donna of the valley because there were so many trees and beautiful homes.

Driving in traffic, I wanted to get a photo of that red car but that is even harder than texting in the car which I don't do.

Unusual Fences

Linking to: Good Fences

This is a spanking new fence put next to a newly built bank in our area.

Snapped a shot of that unusual cloud reflecting on my car. Fall is coming, trees are changing already.

Such a pretty wrought iron fence put there I image to stop people from climbing on the edge of the wall.

This little fence baffles me - I know there is a street sign there but is there a law that a fence can't be close to it?

Skywatch Friday
Friday My Town Shootout

We actually had some rain storms in our arid dry State of Utah and snow on our mountains. Two storms have left the mountains snow capped.

This is part of my neighborhood.
Just half a block away is this old home.

If you look real close, there is a fence beyond the bull and tree. This was taken at Garden City, Utah next to Bear Lake.

A bit of snow from our first storm which melted but now we have more again.

Cloud Top Mountains

Provo, Utah

Provo Mall

Lehi - My street -barely see my mountains.

South Salt Lake convention Center

Cloud and tree reflections - South Salt Lake Convention Center

You have to catch those clouds right away because they move so fast that in less than 5 minutes, they have changed their positions. I attended the semi annual gem faire in South Salt Lake but didn't stay too long. One of those sudden Ice Pick Headaches attacked me but I did get what I needed that day. They just drop you to your knees and take the stuffin right out of you. I am trying to get an appointment with the Migraine Clinic at the University of Utah but apparently it takes months to get in.  Oh well, such is life and the migraines have been with me now for 9 years so they are not leaving. The Ice Pick Headache, however, is new this year.

Superstition Springs

I wanted to get a shot of those marvelous clouds to the west. This section of Mesa has so many different types of fencing.

 Mexican Bird of Paradise

 Reflections from the mall
I do believe someone wanted to make a character out of this cactus.

Mesa, Arizona

I did a quick trip to Mesa this last weekend for a funeral. My cousin who was only 75 passed on and out of this life and out of pain. Cancer is so vicious!

Fence and gate in Mesa.

The only clouds in the sky were to the west.

Strange trees - these don't grow in Utah.

It was 103 degrees F. that day.
This is my first closeup flower photo that turned out good.

Lehi, Utah

They have been building this new complex of offices or shops for the last year and today, I caught them beyond the fence working on top of the roof.
I took a little drive around Lehi and found this cute little mailbox next to a loose wire fence. If you look closely, you can see a pioneer lady and a fellow sitting on the wagon.
