CP smoked all his life and as a result, he developed throat cancer. He was extremely ill and suffered from so much pain from the cancer that he took his own life by shooting himself in the head on September 7, 1945.

Sad. His suffering had to be unimaginable for him to take his life. I still wonder why people smoke when they know how bad it is for them.
