Hi Ruth, I'm keeping you in my prayers. I'm sure everything will be okay! I once had to wear a halter monitor for 24 hours for the same reason, an irregular heartbeat. They found that all was okay, and I'm sure they will for you, too!
Re: raccoons, I've heard the same thing - that they can be very mean! Believe me, after I saw these two on our deck last month, I made sure that I went out into the fenced in backyard with our dog each night when he did his last "business" of the night, just to make sure they weren't around! And we actually don't live anywhere near the woods. We're smack dab on 1/3 of an acre in the middle of a suburban neighborhood with houses all around us. But with all the building that has gone on for decades, the poor critters don't have many woods left to live in so they've all adapted to living in neighborhoods and even cities.
