Blue Agave

The blue agave plant is used to make agave nectar which is a liquid sugar like honey.  I use it all the time since it is a low glycemic sugar.
They cut off the agave leaves and extract the agave in the which they make tequila.
There were four types of tequila there for tasting; one was Almond flavored tequila. I don't imbibe but my new friends from Australia said they'd drink my shots.

Do you know, I've never tried tequila. I never knew there were different flavours of it.

I didn't know there were different flavors either.

Nor me either Ruth. I know you dont drink because of your religion but I remember seeing a programme on tv with Donny Osmond tracing his welsh roots. His mormon family drank beer (yes he thought that was funny too!) which helped them to survive a cholera epidemic because the hops had to be boiled to make the beer which killed off the cholera!

I believe there is a new artificial sweetener for sale that is made from agave. I have never seen one, so interesting!! The second picture, is that the roots? They look like little pineapples.

LOL- I don't drink either, Ruth. They could have had mine, too. xo Diana

Hey Ruth- Do you know which Blogger template you are using? I like it because it is simple and your pictures are a nice size. Is it just one of their regular ones? Thanks in advance for any info. xo Diana
