Library Fences and Seasonal Fun

Enjoyment at the Farmer's Market in Salt Lake City - you never know what you will come across. It is like going to the fair.

Seasonal Fun

Fun things to see and snap on a summer vacation road trip.

Roof top garden looking east from the five story Salt Lake City County Library, built in 2003.

Fencing to keep creatures out of the water feature on the south side of the library.

One of the stairways to the roof top.

Plexiglass fencing in the library's courtyard where tiny stores abound.

Sculpture within the library.

The curved structure is the SLC Library on Library Square.

Oh, the Places I've Been
1. The SLC library was built in 2003 and it took me 10 years before I was able to go inside it.  I was disappointed that parts were already being remodeled.

2. The wind kicks up, the trees sway, the clouds move in and within an hour or so, it all blows away leaving not one drop of rain.

3. Blue Bunny makes a red velvet cake ice cream that really startles the taste buds - we celebrated my granddaughters first birthday today.

4. I've never been a napper so why is it that I feel I need one now at this age?

5. I've been considering joining the Red Hat Society.  Does anyone out there belong?

I have only heard of the Red Hat Society, sounds like it could be a blast and I've heard too of the Red velvet cake ice cream sounds delicious. I am not a napper by nature either but have from time to time succumbed to the call-I always like to think I've just eaten too much and it isn't because of my age.

I love the painted buffalo and the library sculpture! My friend and a group of others were Red Hatters for several years, but finally dropped out.

I think that the Red Hat Society would be a lot of fun. We don't have one around where I live so I've never belonged. You'll have to keep us posted on your adventures if you do join.

Great pictures. Why was it 10 years before you went inside the place?
Several of my friends belong to The Red Hat Society and enjoy it. They are always doing something! xo Diana

I think your sculpture captures summer fun perfectly. The blue is that of a clear summer day and the colours perfectly reflect those of summer.

I belonged to the RHSociety for a time. Do a lot of fun things. Really big in my town. I have pins, earrings, bracelets and picture frames with RHS things on them. Let me know if you join. I will send them to you. I got into art classes and left the Red Hats.

What a beautiful library. Love the views of the mountains. This is a great place to spend a day in and at one of the most surprising places too.

Such a contemporary library -- that surprises me. But it's lovely nonetheless -- a feast for the eye. :)

Nice photos...We have some very active Red Hat Ladies in this neck of the woods...there are lots of tea rooms here and they frequent them often. I am not a member but have witnessed them having a blast!

Hi Dian!

Your grandchildren look so precious! Isn't being a grandmother the most wonderful gift and blessing?

I'd love to visit Salt Lake City one day -- it looks beautiful!

My husband and I are really enjoying our new lives in the west --every day is an adventure!

Naps? Yes----I wish I could indulge more often ;)
