Bridal Veil Falls cascades down 607 feet from the top to the floor of the canyon.
The Provo River below the falls has trout fishing year round and is very accessible because the highway between Provo and Heber, Utah is kept open year round.
Years ago there was a souvenir shop and a tram which took you to a ridge on the right side of the falls where a restaurant with octagonal windows rested.
The owners had had this shop since before 1960 and in one day, it was all wiped out from a rock slide. There are a few remnants of wood remaining but they never opened it again.

Wow! How beautiful! I do enjoy seeing waterfalls. What a shame about the shop.
beautiful shots, we have a Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park in BC Canada :-)
That sure is a long way for the water to fall! The rock it flows over is gorgeous.
I love Bridal Veil falls and have fond memories of hiking around the area when I was a student. This makes me nostalgic for Provo, especially with this fall season upon us :)

A rock slide...and a mud slide in the previous post! A dangerous but beautiful place.

Well, I guess now you could not have any kind of snack shop or tourist place really near the rocks, what a shame! These pictures are stunning and enormous!
wow, that´s quite a waterfall. And you managed to get it in one shot. :)
To bad about the restaurant though. But things like that happens.
Beautiful! We go to Park City every summer and it is very similar to this...Christine
The falls are quite impressive, Ruth. Oh my. Imagine that restaurant being swept away.
Hope nobody was in it at the time!
Thanks for your faithful visits to my blog. Susan
Amazing :)
Utah has so much diverse attractions. I have never heard of these falls but is just beautiful. Is there even more water during the Spring?
What a beautiful waterfall, I can see why they call it Bridal Veil Falls.
Beautiful water falls. I would love to visit this place.
Gorgeous, flowing and revitalizing! The movement in these photos is what struck me; the water against the stone, two different textures working so harmoniously together in your images. Thanks so much for sharing!

It's an amazing place. Maybe the fact that the shop disappeared was a way for nature to say it didn't want any building in such a beautiful place!
Absolutely stunningly gorgeous. I've never been to Utah. Maybe we should head west for our next vacation.
Wonderful looking the waterfall! such a splendid tour..or yes, I just found the Seven Wonders of India which are very famous for their history and beauty. I hope you will know about its through my new post.
HI Ruth,
What a lovely waterfall. It really looks like a veil! Must be beautiful when the vegetation around it are in full autumn color
Beautiful shots of a most dramatic landscape! Thanks for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday:)
