Utah Lake and the Rocky Mountains

I am surrounded by mountains. I feel lost without them and I get my bearings of north, south, east and west from them. This stunning view is on the west side of the valley from where I live looking east over Utah Lake at the rockies. I went to a Luau that evening and was treated to some Island dancing.

I am very rarely on this side of the lake so was caught with awe and wonder at this extraordinary view.

Later that same evening, the moon popped out.

Gorgeous!!! What a view you are surrounded by. I grew up in Colorado, and I totally understand the concept of direction from the Rockies.

Love the moon shot.

They are beautiful, just like a postcard only better. We live in the mountains, too! They are the Blue Ridge and look nothing like yours. Each mountain range has it's own special and different beauty.

Beautiful views, Ruth. Isn't it interesting how we feel anchored by these geographical features. I feel that way about the Great Lakes, particularly Lake Superior.

Gorgeous scenery. There is something magical about the combination of water and mountain.

Lovely. We also get our bearings from mountains where I live - they're to our West.
