Horse Stories

He posed for me when I took his picture!

I wanted to ride horses so much when I was a youngster that I would climb the fence in the neighbors corral up the street and get on one of their small ponies and ride it in the corral.

One time, however, I was over at Cahoon's place and I got on one of their horses and did he ever took off.  I was hanging on for dear life and he was heading for a telephone pole. As I looked up, I fell off and he stopped, of course.

I ended up with a large bump on the back of my head about the size of a baseball and was so dizzy I could not stand up.  My grandparents called the Elders in our church to come over and give me a Priesthood blessing. The next day I was fine and I never did see a doctor.

What a scary story!! It is a good thing the horse stopped and you did not get trampled or break any bones. I bet you had a concussion! These horses are sleek and beautiful, and I think the baby likes you!

What a sweet little baby horse or do I say, Foal. I'm not much of a "horse" person since they sort of scare me but I think they are gorgeous animals. Your story about falling off the horse was scary and thank goodness you came through without any problems.

That little foal with his Mother is so cute.

Horses know when a rider is uncomfortable or a bit edgy when riding....they're also VERY temperamental at times. Glad only a bump on the head was all. Scary.

LOVE the fence images on top of it all.

My daughter did that once and I took off after her through sloshy mud. She ended up falling off and sure enough...the horse stopped in her tracks. Cute foal!

You have always been the adventurous one in the family.

I would have been too scared to get up on the horse. I didn't ride until I got married. My husband was a horse lover.

What great photos. They have me smiling. I have a similar story of my one time I rode a horse. But I find them to be so beautiful.

Hugs~

The story is funny, when it has a happy ending. I wish I could remember that we are no longer as young as we imagine :)
Have a great weekend and see where you walk .. ;D

Love your escapade! Glad you weren't hurt badly. I have seen two ears under my floating body several times.
