Places I've Been - Friday

Linking to my town shoot out and
to Tablescaper for Oh the Places I've been.

Machinery
This photo was taken at the Anchorage Port, Alaska before digital cameras flooded the markets.  I was thoroughly fascinated with the port and the machinery moving Sea Land freight onto semi trucks to be shipped throughout Alaska. Because I had lived inland my entire life, I found myself driving down to the docks to watch the water and ships that docked.

My first thought about machinery was what do I have in my house and the only one that seemed to fit was my old Singer Sewing Machine which just happened to be the second item that I purchased just after my high school graduation.

This post has everything, both man made and nature''s beauty. My favorite is those hills and the multiple arches!! I bet those freight machines made a lot of noise?

the port in Rio de Janeiro is huge, there are containers lining both sides of the highway for ... 3-5 miles. I always wonder how they keep track of what is coming in, what is going out and where do they go from here.

I would love to visit Alaska. Afraid I have waited to late. Don't know if I could hold up for such a distance. Great photos.

Great trips you made my friend! I love to travel every once in a while, maybe once a year, although I'm not wild about it, but I enjoy it very much, once I get to it. I've been to great places, but old pics are not great, so I just show the newest ones. I would love to go to Alaska, though, it has always inerested me. Thanks for your sweet visit. Big hugs,
FABBY

I find the whole operation of moving freight quite amazing.

Great to have you be a part of "Oh, the PLACES I have been!"

Love those huge cranes but I bet they won't serve as long or as well as our old sewing machines!

Those old arches overlooking the sea are beautiful.

I love film photos. Your shot of the Alaskan port looks so nostalgic. And that Singer sewing machine is such an impressive purchase for someone just out of high school! Kids these days would rather spend their savings on shoes or Iphones. Ahh..those photos of Puerto Vallarta just sent nice breeze my way:)
