As we were traveling, my 4-year-old granddaughter said, "look a dirty pond". I looked over at the Colorado River and told her it was a river. Sure enough it was dirty because of the spring runoff from the mountains.
We came to another view of the river where it was clear and she said, "look grandma a clean pond."
It has been years since I traveled from Grand Junction to Denver. I didn't remember all of the tunnels that you pass through. There were so many that I lost track. Utah is just over 4500 feet and at Vail (one of the ski resorts in Colorado) it was about 7200 feet. We crossed the continental divide and down we started all the way to Denver. They had plenty of snow for skiing!
