Mesa, Arizona

I did a quick trip to Mesa this last weekend for a funeral. My cousin who was only 75 passed on and out of this life and out of pain. Cancer is so vicious!

Fence and gate in Mesa.

The only clouds in the sky were to the west.

Strange trees - these don't grow in Utah.

It was 103 degrees F. that day.
This is my first closeup flower photo that turned out good.

Linking to Good Fences.

These photos are so interesting to me as they are nothing like the scenery in N. Ireland so I enjoyed them very much!

  7. Sorry for the loss....but, I tend to think in a positive way instead of feeling sorry for myself...I say "No longer any pain...pain free at last". And then, try and remember the good times had together and smile.

Those flowers are called Mexican Bird of Paradise. And the trees with the green bark is a Palo Verde [translated to Green Stick]. I lived in Tucson for over a decade.

    however, these are lovely picture!
being from oregon, i am used to chilly, cozy, rainy weather.
when i visited some friends in arizona, the weather was such a shock! and all the scenery and nature is so different as well.

    be blessed!
first time visiting your blog...it was such a joy!

  21. So sorry about your cousin. It is what is behind the fence that interests me. How beautiful! The tree is rather strange to me. the building does not look like one that people live in; more like a kind of sculpture. It looks like there are no actual rooms. Beautiful clean looking sky. Lovely tour!

  23. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Ruth. I'm glad you were able to go to the funeral. Arizona is like a foreign country, such a very different landscape from Wisconsin! And so interesting and beautiful in its own way.
