I did a quick trip to Mesa this last weekend for a funeral. My cousin who was only 75 passed on and out of this life and out of pain. Cancer is so vicious!
The only clouds in the sky were to the west.
Strange trees - these don't grow in Utah.
It was 103 degrees F. that day.
This is my first closeup flower photo that turned out good.

So sorry for your loss - cancer is causing much pain to many families.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so interesting to me as they are nothing like the scenery in N. Ireland so I enjoyed them very much!
Hi Ruth, I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin. My heart goes out to you. Your photos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the loss....but, I tend to think in a positive way instead of feeling sorry for myself...I say "No longer any pain...pain free at last". And then, try and remember the good times had together and smile.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are called Mexican Bird of Paradise. And the trees with the green bark is a Palo Verde [translated to Green Stick]. I lived in Tucson for over a decade.
thanks for passing by Ruth, yes there is a castle near the photo i took, it's Chepstow Castle and i will post a view of it in two weeks time.

first time visiting your blog...it was such a joy!
I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. My sister succumbed to it several years ago. It is a terrible and cruel disease. Your photos are lovely, very uplifting.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your loss, lovely photos of a beautiful place. I miss my trips to Arizona where my grandfather made his home.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your cousin. That's an expensive looking and nice fence!

so sad about your cousin, cancer is angry and painful. your images of that area area are beautiful but wow, 103, that's hot!!!
ReplyDeleteArizona is special in many ways. Love your post :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your cousin. It is what is behind the fence that interests me. How beautiful! The tree is rather strange to me. the building does not look like one that people live in; more like a kind of sculpture. It looks like there are no actual rooms. Beautiful clean looking sky. Lovely tour!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your cousin, Ruth.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful!
I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Ruth. I'm glad you were able to go to the funeral. Arizona is like a foreign country, such a very different landscape from Wisconsin! And so interesting and beautiful in its own way.
ReplyDeleteInteresting buildings and plants in Arizona.
ReplyDeletewhy did your grandfather change his name???
