Picket Fences

Linking to Good Fences

The gate was closed to this little park in Sedona.
I thought this was an interesting house in Oracle, Arizona.

That picket fence reminds me of my grandmother's home in Idaho. One summer while staying with our grandparents, my cousin Julia and I were asked to paint the picket fence white. The problem was that we began to argue about how it should be painted and so grandpa separated us making us start at the two farthest ends of the fence.

To this day, Julia and I laugh about that day when we were young teens.

  2. Stories from our childhood are the best! I see the argument didn't keep you and your cousin from remaining friends.

  6. Re your comment on my fences photo...the ones with the cows looking at me...you ask if they wer looking at me asking where's the food. Oh, they most definitely were! NOt that they are mine, but I do know the look. They thought since we were pausing there that there was a chance....

  7. Arizona has the most interesting names for their cities. Oracle...that's awesome.

How sweet for you and your cousin to have that memory about your grandparents' fence. :)

  8. What a funny story. I have sisters too and we were known to get into it. Thanks for the visit. I too am very interested n genealogy...don't get me started. I found my GG Granfathers plantation...or the remains of it. Spent three yrs restoring the cemetery, which was about all that was left. The stories I could tell!...Janey

  9. Different fence sights. I like the old one, where it is falling down. Nicely done,
