 They have been building this new complex of offices or shops for the last year and today, I caught them beyond the fence working on top of the roof.

I took a little drive around Lehi and found this cute little mailbox next to a loose wire fence. If you look closely, you can see a pioneer lady and a fellow sitting on the wagon.

Bluebirds In Idaho

There must be a lot of bluebirds in southern Idaho and northern Utah because I ran into a lot of places using their names.  The Bluebird Inn on Bear Lake (Idaho side), the Bluebird Restaurant and Fountain in Logan, Utah (been in business since 1914).

This was the fantastic view of the backyard from my room at the Bluebird Inn in Idaho.

Filet mignon covered with mushrooms and onion - yum. It was scrumptious! Apparently, The Bluebird Restaurant in Logan, Utah also makes hand dipped chocolates and fountain drinks like ice cream sodas.

The State of Idaho claims the Mountain Bluebird for their state bird, while Utah claims the California Seagull as their state bird.

This chain link fence is new and very sturdy but the house is rather a shambles.  Can you imagine rebuilding trying to save this house from just falling down.  It was probably a pioneer home built on the northern shores of Bear Lake, Idaho.

Western Romanesque Gothic Style

I actually found a church with a red door.  I wasn't sure I could find one in Utah but there it was in the small town of Logan, Utah.  An original wood structure was built in 1873 but a more modern building of brick replaced the wooden church in 1910.

An unusual feature in this church is a labyrinth, which was added in 2004 and is called a "sacred walk."

Car Collection

Every time I drive by this place, there are new additions to his collection. There must be about at least 10 now. The latest is this white car that still has paint.
Any car buffs out there know what car this is?  I thought it was a beatle bug but in looking closer, I don't think it is.

Fish Haven, Idaho

While staying at Bear Lake, I traveled north into Idaho and found a tiny place called Fish Haven.  I couldn't believe that a house of this size was on this spot of the map.

I thought there were two homes built beyond this fence but as I examine it, it is a house-sized four-car garage with a room for a guest or two.

The only business that I found in Fish Haven was a combo liquor store and Idaho-style deli, which sold lotto tickets. It was like walking through a long narrow trailer except it was made of wood.

Originally, this Fish Haven was called Rush Creek in 1864 and was founded by the Shirley family (two brothers had married two sisters in South Africa and they came to America after joining the Mormon pioneers. They were always together and at one time lived in the same house. Fish Haven is 2.5 miles north of the Utah border on the shores of Bear Lake.
