Happy Trails

With a new paint job, she is ready to go. Gotta watch the shadows because critters like snakes love to crawl under and away from the sun.

Guardians of the Angels

These creatures guard the angel's home - seen in the previous blog.
If you look closely to the left,  a wolf lies hidden in the greenery while the eagle stands proud and ready.

Today, we are snow covered with at least an inch but we have enough snow in the mountains for the ski resorts to open.

Neighborhood Creatures

A mini buffalo guards this patch.

The proud lioness keeps a watchful eye.

But I do believe that this is where the angels live.

Warning - be aware of snakes - true to the word.

Reflections and shadows at Bear Lake, Utah - They have the best Raspberry shakes in the state made with real ingredients - none of that powder stuff.

Shadows at Lava Hot Springs, Idaho

This church building in Lava Hot Springs was saved from demolition by becoming a bed and breakfast. They serve a gourmet filet mignon meal; the largest stake and best meal I have ever eaten. I am sure that the beef came from Idaho or Utah free ranges.

Side view of the old church in Lava Hot Springs turned into a B&B. They also have weddings at the Greystone Manor.

This was the most colorful bull in Logan, I couldn't resist taking a photo of him and the shadows.

Duchesne drapes these lovely flowers on main street every year.

Bear Lake Fence

Those poles were once very large sturdy trees.  Yearly, there is a large harvest of raspberries freshly picked from the Bear Lake area. They sell very quickly in Salt Lake City and even down in Utah County where I live.

Gothic Temple in Logan, Utah

 Temple grounds, fountain behind tree.

Light pole

The Logan temple was started in 1877 and finished in 1884.

Roughly 25,000 people worked on the Logan Temple. Rocks and timber used for the temple were hauled from the Temple Fork area of Logan Canyon. As completion of the temple neared, women in the area were asked to make carpets for the temple, since commercially made carpet could not be bought in Utah then. The women spent two months working to hand make two thousand square yards of carpet.

At night

It looks almost like a castle.

Brigham City Tabernacle

Neogothic Brigham City Tabernacle, built in 1897 by the pioneers who trekked across the plains to Utah which was then a territory and not a state. It holds about 1600 people. It took 25 years to build. In 1896 there was a fire from the furnace and it took one year to restore it.

Taken from across the on the Brigham City Temple grounds.
